East Bay Express - Sound of Summer
"Shannon Corr combines studied professionalism, technical expertise, nimble adaptability, and a remarkable sensitivity towards his subject
matter to create pictorial compositions of consummate and singular mastery. I came to Shannon with a promotional photo shoot project involving
a distant morning rendezvous, multiple shooting sites, and inchoate-yet-crucial high concept underpinnings. Shannon took the job with no
hesitation, demonstrated exemplary reliability, and decisively consolidated our half-formed notions without the barest hint of overbearingness. All
of this, however, was just the icing on the cake: Shannon's photographic output -- over one hundred high resolution images delivered in less than
a week -- are of a quality that unfailingly elicits gushing admiration from our supporters as well as piqued interest from the uninitiated. Shannon's
photographs are a crucial component of my band's promotional strategy and I cannot stress enough the ardor with which I would commend his
services to any enterprise in need of high quality, individually-tailored, and stylish photographic portraiture."

~ André Zivkovich, Generalissimo
Nice words  from others:
"Shying away from the "traditional' music photography, Shannon Corr presents his work more as "art". You don't even have to had heard of a band to
appreciate the photography. A drummer for nearly 30 years - currently for two bay area bands The Turks and Sons of Oswald - Corr is able to closely
connect with the timing of a bands performance which gives him an edge an insight on photographing them. He has been a part of the Bay Area music
scene for nearly fifteen years both as a performer and a photographer. Feeling right at home in smaller venues where he can get up close and personal
with the bands without having to deal with over zealous "mall fans" and oblivious venue owners. His work has been featured in many shows throughout the
Bay Area, widely used by local publications. He organizes, shows work and plays in a yearly art/music fest called "Amps and Apertures" where bands and
photography come together as one. You can always fine him at a show either playing in it or photographing it. His band promotional work and portrait work
has the same freshness and his ideas, sense of work ethic,  work flow and turn around times are uncommonly found.  So if you need a photographer don't
hesitate to ask him, the whole experience will be fun."
"Shannon has been supporting, playing in, and photographing the Bay Area music scene as long as I've known him, which is about ten years now, so
it was a no brainer to ask him to take promo photos for my band. He was reasonably priced, very professional, and extremely cool to work with. When
we received our photos(within less than a week, I think), they exceeded our wildest expectations. We were very glad we chose him to shoot us."

"Shannon Corr approaches his music photography from a musicians point of view. Twenty plus years as a professional drummer gives him the insight
and timing for great live images. He has taken this quick thinking, personal approach and applied it to his portrait and commercial work providing clients
with intimate sessions yielding fast results without the cheese ball, salesman photographer act."
"Shannon Corr lives and works in Oakland California. He cut his teeth in the 90's with film and keeps his digital photography as pure as possible.
No photo shop and no silly touch ups. He likes the freedom of digital capture but has a particular dislike of all the "auto snipers" that digital has
created. He has a full array of studio lighting for both in studio and on location lighting and thoroughly enjoys creating unique lighting situations
that remain natural looking. Basically, if you need photos or a photographer for any reason you will find Shannon will fit the bill. " - K

...."Pretty much from the second you meet Shannon, you feel comfortable and at ease (which is especially huge  if you are not in front of a camera
much). Then, he starts explaining his philosophy on creative photography and you think to yourself, "this guy is going to capture who I am and what I'm
about. I've found the right person. Let's do it!"  I found the shoot to be a blast and I'm super happy with the final product. Shannon, you got skills my
friend. Thanks again!" -Michael Saunders

The Frustrators
" I've been wanting to work with Shannon for awhile. Over the years I've been watching his photography and really loved  the blend of colors, mixed with nature and
urban grit.  He has a way of capturing a wide landscape or a movement that makes a picture unique, and has a  a new perspective.
I've been doing hair behind the chair for a number of years and have been wanting to expand on a different media: print work and photography. There is something
special to see my work on a client or model, photographed. For one, it is held in time and another, the perspective changes. A picture becomes art.
I talked with Shannon about my ideas and he easily listened to them. He explained what would work  and what wouldn't.  He was also very open to working with me on
this project, which really felt positive for me, because i could expand on all  my creative notions.  I remembered calling Shannon really early mornings and he always
answed  or call me back. He was very easy to talk to and get my point across and have all my questions answered.
On the day of the shoot, Shannon was prompt and ready to go. He made it very comfortable for myself and my models to set up and have a good time. I had work to do
myself, getting the models changed, ready and spiffy and I completely trust Shannon to know what to do with the models, as i turned them over to him.
Just as I thought, the photo shoot was a hit! He took many different photos with all the ideas we all brought to the table.  Again, Shannon was very prompt in showing
me the gallery after it was done and sending me the pictures. After a shoot, that's  all you think about, ' How does it all look?'.  I was very happy to see all the angles
and shots of my models, art direction and hair. There are really many to choose from that I like.
Thank you Shannon for a fantastic job! And look forward to working with you again."  Kaitrin Sears - Stylist/Art Director
